Yuuum! :D Today my friends and I had a mini potluck. Our theme this time was Indian. So far we've done, French, Filipino, Mexican, and I think Mediterranean. I can't remember though. Since Jen cooked chicken curry and Maria made naan, I decided to make a dessert. I made Channar Payesh. It tasted okay, but I'm pretty sure it came out really wrong. lol. ^_^; I used a really simple recipe from online. Anywhoo, we were all super full afterwards. We played Scrabble and I thought that I was gonna win, but then they all came up from behind. lol. ^_^ So yeah, the day ended quite well, but started out quite badly. I can get soo grumpy and irritable sometimes and over such absurd reasons. >_< talk about waking up on the wrong side of the bed! I feel bad about how grumpy I was throughout the day, but oh well. It's over now and tomorrow is near. So, I'm gonna head off to sleep and hopefully be a little more stronger and calmer tomorrow and look on the brighter side of things. yep yep.

On a side note, Hot Topic is selling Spock ears! Go get them while you can! XD I also got this awesome Batman and Robin watch from JCPenney's for like $14. It's so funny and big. :D If only they made Sanzo/Goku watches or Gundam 00 watches! LOL. Wouldn't that be entertaining? Oh yeah, they also sell Spock wigs, but I'm not to crazy about those. ^^

For the first time ever, Marvin and I went on a little road-trip together down to LA to attend Anime Expo 09. :D
I kind of wish I had blogged about it each day instead if having to look back and capture it all in one post, but oh well.

Here it goes!  )

Last night I saw Star Trek on imax and it was totally awesome!!!!!! XD lol. Unfortunately, it's kind of late right now I'm tired from walking around all day so my current post on the movie's awesomeness isn't going to have all the excitement that it should. ^.^; Anywhoo, anyone reading this should just go watch the movie. Now.

The pacing was good, the special effects were cool and the actors did such an amazing job of paying tribute to the original character portrayals, as well as making the character their own. There was also a lot of humor and cool Trek references that I was surprised and delighted to see. I was just on wikipedia reading about the movie production and I think it was awesome how some of the actors prepared for and felt about their roles. Zachary Quinto actually tried to dress a little like Spock when he auditioned. ^.^ Speaking of Spock, I was really surprised by that one pairing, but then I kiind of accepted it even though I'm all for K/S. lol. ^_^ Anywhoos. I really want to watch the movie again and see how I feel about it all then. hehe. It probably won't be the same without all the audience clapping and cheering at the cool parts, but I'm sure it'll still be fun. While standing in line I saw a dude dressed as evil Spock, a woman as Janice Rand I think, and some people in Star Trek: TNG uniform. I have to admit, when I was kid I always wanted a TNG uniform. My sister and I were really into that show when I was in elementary school. :D I remember having to record the episodes when my sister was working, and I even had action figures of the crew. I also had a phaser and tricorder that I'd carry around in this little purple bag that had a unicorn on it. lol. XD Then, when the show ended I was introduced to Babylon 5 which I totally loved and still do. I thought I would never get back into Star Trek, but now I'm like super excited again and happy to return to the fandom. hehe. My interest in Star Trek actually re-ignited when I started to watch the original series with Celeste and Jasmine. I actually hadn't seen any of those episodes till then and now I'm like must..watch more! hehe. ^___^

man. i need some star trek icons. i guess G00 will have to do for now since it kind of takes place in space. lol. oh man. maybe Tieria would be a Vulcan, but then again he gets kind of emotional. Setsuna seems more like a Vulcan. ^.^

Yeah. I know fast food ain't good for ya, but sometimes it really hits the spot. :) Today was a nice warm day. I kind of stayed up too late last night on yahoo answers trying to answer this 12 year old's question about how to self publish manga. O_o whoa man! When I was 12, stuff like that never crossed my mind. I wish they had though because maybe by now I'd have like 12 volumes of something marketable. Anywhoo, I thought it was a pretty cool question so I tried my best to help. I'm like addicted to yahoo answers now. >_< Actually, it was really bad when I first started, but now it's better. hehe. ^_^; I don't know, it's just a fun thing to do in your spare time.

After church we went to a farmer's market and there was a lady playing the Hogwart's theme on her violin! XD Then, she started playing the Star Wars theme!! It was very cool. :)

Seems like I only post when I have a mishap. hehe. Whatever! It's fun to remember them.
So today I went to my friend's house where we ate delicious carne asada, tortillas, Spanish rice, and potatoes. The guacamole was really good too. Afterwards, we made churros. We actually made the dough, put it in a plastic bag, and then squeezed it into the pan with the oil where it cooked. As I was squeezing the last of the dough out my hand kind of slipped and hit the oil! The oil wasn't very deep. It was just a sauce pan, but it had been frying the dough the whole time. My friends were like OMG and I pulled my hand out really fast. It all happened really fast and then I was like what do I do?? Do I wash it off? So I washed it off and then she sprayed my hand with this burn stuff and afterwards I just kept laughing. I just thought it was really funny. Maybe I was in shock. lol. My hand felt sore for a little bit and looked a little red, but in a while it looked and felt completely fine. So yeah. I dunno how that happened. Then we played Scrabble or maybe that was before followed by a game of Mao. Two of the rules involved taking a sip of what we were drinking which was really sweet chocolate milk or taking a bite of a churro whenever you put down an Ace which resulted in a dislike of sugar at the end. Then I had to drive myself home which I haven't done in a while. I was slightly freaked out because it was kind of late and I got a little lost.

And then... )

The cat came back today, but I was asleep. I got a haircut and highlights cuz I couldn't take the frumpiness any longer. I guess if I ever want long hair again I'll need to get extensions. The electricity went out for a bit, but we were off galavanting across town by then. I borrowed more manga and comics from the library. The library rocks. I'm glad kids still read about Clifford. Apparently there's Sweet Valley University. I wonder if there's anything after that. I wish we had cool anime stores here :( I saw freaking cardboard Domo-Kuns all over Target advertising Halloween; however, they weren't even selling any merchandise of him!! What the hey man! Oh well. There's always little fruit flies buzzing around the computer desk. I don't know why. This weekend Kamikaze Pop at the Metreon is having a big sale. Next Saturday is 24-Hour Comics Day at Powell. woot! Around noon I felt like a grumpy hermit. Then I took a nap in a waiting room next to a fish tank. I felt better. The new Knight Rider is playing in the background and it sounds uninteresting. Goodies are coming and I apologize if they're belated :) I had a list of things to do today. Hopefully I can still finish them. I saw delicious fruit cups and little cakes in the bakery at Safeway today. I miss Antique Bakery.

I heard song a while ago. It had something to do with a rock and a hard place or something.
-Today: A cat snuck into our house. Black and white. Very cool. I pet it, called its owners and let it loose. It came back and we had to chase it out again. I kinda hope it visits from time to time. I also watched Gundam 00. I liked the very shiny battle. I also liked Ribbons and his ribbon dancers' outfits. I thought it was funny Exia had a cape thing on to hide it's lack of an arm or whatever. It must've been hard for Setsuna to attach that thing, but probably not as hard as it was for Heero to attach wings to his Gundam. I need to work on homework, but I hear the presidential debate starting.
- Last night I watched Heroes. I liked seeing Skylar making pancakes, but what's the point of showing the future when it's constantly changing. Sarah Connor Chronicles was all right too, but I wanted more terminator action. hehe.

Woot!!!! I love the Olympics! I love the feeling it inspires! I wished I could have seen all of the opening ceremony, but then we had to go eat at a place that wasn't showing it. blah!!!! They were showing football instead. :( grr... Anywhoo. The torch lighting was really cool as were the accompanying fireworks. I managed to see the drum performance and the kanji part earlier. I had a feeling that people were under there, but then I was like. Nah, probably not, but then boom! There they were. very nice :) I really admire those athletes. One of my goals: go to the Olympics! Just as a spectator of course. ^___^ hmm... that's gonna cost a lot of manga.... oh well. One life, one meet! I'll get there somehow.

Yesterday, Marvin and I made enchiladas. They looked like enchiladas and even tasted like them! :D Mission complete. I played darts and didn't do too bad either. I suck at pool though.

last night I had this dream that I was going on a trip. Some stuff happened along the way. I think there was sneaking around and an old house involved. The main thing I remember....was that I had a Mokona plushie and a Mokona balloon which was yellow! weird. I know. but very cool.

Anyways. Today I ran for 30 min. on the treadmill. woot! I also ate delicious pork chops that my mom made. XD Currently, I'm working on what my friend Miki dubbed a "happy life board". It was something she saw on Opera. ^_^ Basically, you get pictures of things you really want in life, put them on a board and somehow you'll get them. I guess it's like since you take the time to figure out and find what you want and then put them somewhere you can see then you'll unconsciously take the steps to reach those goal or by seeing them everyday it will keep you consciously focused on reaching those goals. I thought, why not give it a try? It was fun finding things.

This evening I went to a dance practice for our town's Obon festival. My friend mentioned it to us and so Marvin and I went to check it out. It was fun :) The dances were almost the same as the last time we participated, but some of the new steps were tricky. ^_^ I think San Jose and Monterey are having Obon festivals this weekend while ours will be on the 27th.

Yesterday, I finally finished season 1 of Code Geass. Out of everything that happened in that season the main thing I keep thinking about is poor Euphie. Good grief!! Whoever wrote this series is crazy. Never a dull and predictable moment. I also like that episode where Lulu used the geass on himself. That was pretty cool.

Oh man! o_O What a crazy morning/noon!

My turtle laid 3 eggs and she doesn't even have a mate. At first I freaked out because I didn't know what to do nor why it happened. I also got pissed because my parents moved the eggs, and I've always heard that you're not supposed to touch things like that or the mother won't want them or something. (which I was wrong about in this case.) Anyways, I cooled off and went online and read up on red eared sliders (that's the type of turtle or terrapin that we have). Female turtles can actually retain sperm in them for up to 5 years I think (whoa!), but 5 years ago my turtle was just a baby. Apparently, it's normal for females to lay infertile eggs without a mate. I was still really sad when we had to discard the eggs even though they were blank. I'm also kind of worried about my turtle because right now she's not moving much and she has her eyes closed. I hope it's just because she's tired, but I also read that turtles can become egg bound or retain their eggs if there's no place to lay them or if they can't push them all out. It could cause health problems for them. I think we might need to make a nesting area for her in the future, but I still don't really get if it's attached to the tank or if you're suppose to just put her in there when you think she's ready to birth. I hope she managed to push all her eggs out. I just don't know how many eggs she's supposed to lay. Wikipedia said between 2 and 30!! Some people mentioned just a couple. For now, I'll let her be.

In lighter news, yesterday my friend helped me make a character to play as in Dungeons & Dragons. I'm a dwarf ranger :) I still need to come up with a background though.

Also, I got this funny recorded message from direct tv or whatever advertising the Manny Pacquiao fight this saturday. It even ahd a message from Pacquiao himself. lol.

okays. gonna go eat lunch now. geez. i can't believe the time already....

Meesa gonna post just for the halibut!

So lately, I've been cleaning. Actually. I'll look at the heaps of mess in my room and then flop down somewhere and not clean. It drains my energy bleh! I've been very energy-less lately, but it's all right. I'll bounce back soon.

I've been finding lots of amusing things in my room such as pictures from high school, a contract I made my friends sign so that I could use them in future fanfics (how dangerous is that?! lol), the sign I use to hang on my desk at the dorms stating that I was in the basement ^.^, and tons of lyrics to anime songs that I printed out and stapled together. Egads. Anywhoos. Hopefully I'll finish arranging things tonight. hehe.

Facebook totally freaked me out a couple days ago. I just went on to check some messages and then! Some sort of instant message thing popped up. Whoa man. It was funny and cool cuz I got to chat with a friend.

I guess that's all for now. I'll draw something funny and post tomorrow.

Woot! Classes are over! My emotions were mixed and swirled like some fine drink after my last class especially after an informative and uplifting conversation with my teacher and a kind of sad wave goodbye to some classmates; however, I'm kind of past that moment at the moment and feel more like recapping today's day. yup! So yeah. I woke up late. blah! Then we checked out J-town and there was an Asian Heritage Festival going on. Very interesting. The part I really want to get down in typing is when I got hit in the head by one of the booths that got blown over. I must say, it was quite exciting. A metal pole thing just hit me and everyone was trying to grab it so it didn't blow away any further. I'm all good though. Anywhoos! I got this funny yellow visor with a gryffindor type logo on it. I think it's from a beer company. I also got to eat some yummy foods. I even caved in and bought one of those Gundam 00 chibi figures that talk. lol. I got Graham Achre and I think he's saying something about his heart. Probably about how much he loves gundams.
Tomorrow is the miyavi concert. I'm excited and very curious. hehe.
I was watching a bunch of toonami commercials on youtube. Dude. I miss that block of anime. That whole era was really fun. I also really like the "Catch you, Catch Me" song from Cardcaptor Sakura. It makes me very nostalgic ^___^ of a great many things.
Well, that's all for now. :)
